The Today Series is but one part of the legacy left by Jefferson H. Floyd since his passing on February 3, 2008. Over a lengthy period of illness in the early 1990′s Jeff began to write regular e-mails to a small group of pastors and laymen. After some time that list grew to about 350 recipients and over a period of 15 years Jeff wrote hundreds if not thousands of e-mails.
The Today Series is not about a daily devotion but is instead about shaping people’s ability to have right thoughts about God, themselves and others equipping them to make better decision each day. All too often people are either shackled by the failures of the past or incapacitated by fears about what the future might hold. Jeff’s vision was to equip people with the tools necessary to live in context of ‘today’ putting the past behind them and entrusting the future into the hands of a sovereign Lord.
